Fishing at Meemee's

We went to visit Meemee for the first time since the funeral of Pawpaw. The boys said lots of things and asked some question about pawpaw. We had a nice visit and the weather was great. Larry took the older 2 boys fishing at the pond and I went outside with my lovely DSLR camera and tried to practice some techniques I've read over at the Pioneer Woman's website. They had lots of fun but I cannot say I've mastered anything new on the camera front...I've only had it for 2 years so you think I would know how to use it!

Here is a picture with my zoom lens. I justified the need for this lens to my husband telling him that with 3 BOYS, I could take awesome sports shots. This picture was taken of Andrew playing at the edge of the pond...I was about 150 feet away. I love the reflection and the fact that he was totally unaware that he was being photographed!

Larry is watching for a 'bite' while Conner waits patiently with the wagon.

Meemee coming to see if we are having any luck!

We have had a busy weekend. Gramps and Grandma came for a quick visit. They got to see a football game of BOTH boys playing yesterday. The coach played a true 'rookie' and he did great!

Favorite Foto Friday, Octoberfest!

Happy Friday! I am so glad it is friday, even though we have another full weekend planned. Just having my boys home from school and hubby home from work...makes it an awesome weekend!

This morning, we met with our playgroup friends at a local pumpkin patch. It is at a church and all proceeds go to their missions. We met around 11 and had so much fun! They had a bubble machine going and of course, there were lots of pumpkins, mums, pansies and scarecrows. What some cute pictures I was able to take! Of course, we tried to get one of all the kids (approximately 10...ages 6 months to 3 years!). It just didn't happen...at least not on my camera. We still had a great time and look forward to getting together in 2 weeks to 'paint' our baby pumpkins!

Just having some fun!

Wondering what are all these pumpkins doing here?

I love this picture...he was trying to get 'down' off the pumpkin!

Matthew really 'cheesing' it up!

Here are 6 of the group...

Posing right after we arrived.

Breast Cancer Awareness Day

Good Morning! Yesterday, as soon as I picked up the boys from school, they both informed me they HAD to wear pink today. I asked why and they said because the principal said to. I had already read that October 1 was national breast cancer awareness day and to wear pink that day but never imagined that my boys would want to. So, this morning I had their clothes picked out for school and there was no pink...imagine that in a house full of boys?!? I tried putting a pink sticker but it would not stick and they told me they needed a pink shirt. Then I remembered....a time when I found some pink polo shirts on clearance and bought them thinking those would be nice for spring. BUT, their daddy would not let me put them on the boys...He's from the old school :) Well, recently I have been going through closets and sorting clothes and I remembered I put those in a pile for ebay or goodwill. I frantically searched this morning and found them! The boys were so excited so I made them take a picture...to send to daddy because he misses you! So here we are, silly pictures and all. We had to go for a dental cleaning and checkup before heading to school. Hi Daddy...we love and miss you lots...and by the way...No...Matthew is not in pink!

Football team pictures

Early Saturday we had team football pictures...8:30 AM. Talk about getting started early! But the good thing about it was we had the rest of the day (well...after the soccer game-another story) to get ready for the BIG GAME! Yes GA-AL. I was informed by my Favorite brother in law that my husband's mom had disowned him for the weekend because he had this black shirt on Saturday. To give him credit, he changed before the game that night...and...his...team...won.

S-O-C-C-E-R

Yes, in addition to Andrew playing football, Conner is playing in his first team sport...Soccer. He is enjoying it and we are learning alot...even daddy who has never played the sport(one of very Few he hasn't). You can tell by the picture above he is one proud boy!

Here is one during warm up.

Right in the thick of things and getting a foot on the ball...Great Job!! (he is the one with the dark green shirt on the left...you can see his face)

Keeping up with the action...

He played goalie the second half and protected the goal nicely. No score by the other team! Here he is returning the ball to play...our coach lets them kick it or throw it over head.

Fall for FOOTBALL

I'm not sure of the them for this Favorite Foto Friday but I know what I want to use....Football pictures! We just started having games this week and its so much fun to see the practice paying off. It's his first year playing football, and yes, it's flag football. He takes it very seriously. Just look at the expressions on his face!

This is a pregame picture!

Huddling with the team determining their next play. Don't you love the coach?

Look at him blocking!

He takes football seriously....like his mom!

On another football note, we will have a big divided house here this weekend. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Go DAWGS!!!!!!!! Roll all over the tide!
