Today. It was time...

Well I finally took Matthew to get his 'first' haircut. After having him cry when I was brushing out the tangles...I made up my mind to go through with it. He was great and the ladies at Sport Clips couldn't stop their bragging about his behavior.... "He's better than most 4-5 year olds..." was one of their many compliments. It's gone and I have an envelope full of my baby's hair.

This picture was taken after she wet it and right before we put a small rubber band around his hair.....some friends have referred to it as his mullet and others have called it his 'tail'.

Here he is being the big boy he is. As long as he had a dum dum sucker he was fine. (he had 3 total!) The only tear he cried was from the rubber band...I think it pulled his hair.

After... That man reading the newspaper acted like he had never saw a mama take pictures of her 'baby's' first hair cut. He just didn't get it. Or maybe he doesn't have children.

One last pose. Honestly...I was okay until I received a Pix on my cell phone of my first cousins newborn boy. He was born this morning at 7:20 and oh how I cannot wait to smell him!

Comments anyone???

He wasn't ready....

Yesterday, my sweet husband decided to take the day off from work. We had a few things he wanted to get done around the house. AND...(you know there was an and) he informed me a couple of weeks ago he guess he needed to take a day off to "take Matthew to get a hair cut..." Note...he hasn't had his first hair cut and will be 23 months old tomorrow. I agreed he would probably have to 'help' me get him a hair cut as I didn't want to give up his 'baby look' just yet.

Fast forward back to yesterday...after accomplishing 2 jobs here at home, we loaded up and headed into town. Our first stop...Yams. I got out with my camera in hand telling myself it was time to cut this hair. Winter cold dry weather is here and it doesn't do justice to his fine blonde baby hair...He would not sit in the airplane but would the firetruck. He started to raise his hands at me and started whining. I looked at his daddy and said "He's not happy and is not ready" to which he was determined to get it cut. I took a picture, trying to get him to smile...with no such luck. So when she started to put the cape around his neck he started fighting it. I gently picked him up and told them(daddy and hairdresser) we "didn't have to do this today...Maybe...he's not ready." OR maybe, just maybe, I'M the one not ready...
Sigh...

Sweet Kisses! (Favorite Foto Friday)

I knew exactly what I wanted to post when I saw the topic this morning. I have been going through some old digital photos and saw 2 great pictures last night... Sorry I can only come up with 2 as our 'playroom' computer crashed a few weeks ago and we have yet to get all my pictures off the hard drive. They aren't 'lost' thank goodness, just such large files that I probably need to invest in an external hard drive!

The following picture was taken the morning after Matthew was born. Conner was 3 1/2 and he quietly (all on his own I might add) walked over to the 'baby' and gave him a kiss on his head...I am so thankful I captured this shot of sweet innocence. Oh, how I love it! And it makes me realize how quickly my 'babies' are growing up.

I have a picture of Andrew on my 'broken' computer kissing Conner when he was a baby. They are only 18 months apart and it was so sweet to see him(as an 18 month old) kissing Conner when we brought him home from the hospital. This sweet 'hug' will have to do! Andrew was 5 when Matthew was born.
